It doesn't suck!
Does it look "home-sewn"? Probably. (That seems to be one of the worst possible insults Michael Kors can throw at somebody, so evidently it is to be avoided.) Does it have a few issues? Most definitely. (Bias facing? What? How?) Does my daughter like it? Yes, she does. Am I proud of myself for overcoming my irrational fear of garment sewing? Totally.Okay, mission accomplished! You might even see a summer version of this one of these days.
Very pretty! Love the fabric.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really nice! Good job!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting over your fear of garment sewing! The dress looks great and I especially love the photo of your girl twirling in it :)
ReplyDeleteIt's about as far from "suck" as you can get - well done! And way to overcome your fear. That your little girl loves it is the highest praise. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I'm so excited for you!! And of course she loves it, it looks like a great twirling dress. Good for you - and it doesn't look homemade to me, it looks fantastic! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about home sewn. Most of my friends and family know what I create, but I strive to make things that strangers would think are store bought. ;)
The pleats look awesome! Good job Lee!!! I bought that same pattern this summer and I have only looked at it. Any tips?
ReplyDeleteIt definitely DOESN'T suck!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteOMG Lee! I did the same thing when my daughter was the same age! lol Mine was a "dumbed down" dress - a band with straps, no curved neck. Good for you!!! You did great! Glad to know there are other quilters afraid of garment sewing. ; ) Love your pretty photos!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's adorable! It looks like something you would find in a swanky little girl's boutique...
ReplyDeleteJennifer :)
Very cute! You did a fantastic job!Clothing scares me. I made a skirt recently for my daughter and it was such a disaster that she hid it under her bed.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a darling picture of your cutie twirling too.
nice work Lee. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed. (I'm also a bit scared of garments or any 3-dimensional sewing!). :)
It looks wonderful, great job.
ReplyDeleteYay! It looks great. Have a great (warm) Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteLovely little dress and I love your daughter's obvious delight in dancing in it!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! (And I think kids are the best people to sew for--they seem to appreciate it the most!)
