Giveaway Day: We Have a Winner!

Oh, you guys. I had no idea what I was in for when I came up with this wacky idea for a giveaway. All I can say is: Thank you!! You (all 338 of you!) have made this such a fun week. In fact, I think your hilarious comments kept me from reaching total pre-Christmas meltdown. : )

At any rate, McLurky thought there was a clear winner, and I couldn't agree with him more. So congratulations ....

And FYI, when she's not writing quilting-related parodies of '90s rap songs, Carin runs the amazing charity Margaret's Hope Chest. They have a wonderful project called Wrapped In Hope, which provides birthday quilts to children of prisoners.

Carin has a long list of kids in need, and you can sign up to make a quilt for a specific child in 2011. In fact, I just signed up for one myself, and already have a vision of what I'm going to make for 12-year-old Alissa. What a great way to use our talents to make some deserving kids feel special. But back to my giveaway: There were many comments that made the hubs and I laugh, so I have to point out a few honorable mentions as well. No, you guys don't get a prize, just ... notoriety?

PDX Bride said: "I love those small squares you are cutting, are those pasties?"

Melissa's husband thought fat quarters were called "fatty quarts," and Hillbilly Handiwork's husband went into a quilt store and asked for the "Pop Tart" that they had on hold for her, instead of a turnover. Gotta love these guys, right?

Thanks to Madhatcher's comment, I don't think I'll ever look at a mug rug the same way again. : )

And finally, mabblab suggested that when I'm having a bad day, the hubs should get me a bundle of fat quarters instead of roses. I am fully on board with that plan ... McLurks, are you listening?
