WIP Wednesday #12

Welcome to a very snowy WIP Wednesday linky! Please join us—that is, if you're not too busy battling the Snowpocalypse. Although I suppose that could be considered a work in progress, too.

Ongoing projects:

Don't Call Me Betsy's Sliced Coins Quilt-Along
I am so loving my Pips layer cake in Elizabeth's design! The prints almost seem to sparkle, don't they? The next step is lots of very blue sashing! This quilt, which is part of the Margaret's Hope Chest Wrapped in Hope program, is my top priority right now. It will be a birthday gift for a 12-year-old girl named Alissa whose mother is in prison. (Heartbreaking, isn't it?) The deadline to mail it off to Alissa is just a little more than two weeks away. Lots to do on it before then!

Blockapalooza
Oops, I'm already falling behind on my Blockapalooza blocks. Well, maybe Snowapalooza will give me a chance to catch back up, what with not being able to leave my house and all.

Ready for binding:
All of a sudden, I have not one, not two, but three quilts that are ready to be bound: Modern Meadow, Urban Lattice, and Fall Equinox. How did that happen? That's a lot of hand-stitching. Fortunately, Snowmageddon is here! There is actually a "civil danger warning" in my area—nobody's supposed to leave the house if they can help it. So I get to sit on the couch and stitch! My Urban Lattice quilt is already being hand-stitched as we speak—there's a newborn baby girl with her name on that one. (Literally. I made my first quilt label last night.)

Completed tops awaiting quilting:
Hope Valley

On hold for now:
King-size Intersections
Central Park jelly roll quilt
That Girl quilt-along
Figgy Pudding quilt
Wonky Log Cabin

This week's stats:
New projects - 0
Completed projects - 1 (My secret project! I'll be sharing it soon!)
Currently in progress - 11 (down one from last week)

So come link up! What—you have something better to do? Battening down the hatches maybe, or digging a snow den for warmth? Let's see what you've got!

I've been thinking about joining the Blockapalooza gang, what fabric are you using?

Thanks again for hosting. I am liking your arrangement of the sliced coins. I am struggling to keep up with Block-a-palooza -- block two was a crazy with 81 squares!

Your Sliced-Coins quilt is beautiful and for such a deserving young lady and a great organization.

Hope you get all your hand-stitching done. After playing yesterday, I have to catch up on housework during my snowday.

Good luck with the sewing! I'm hoping to get some done today, myself, in between chasing the child and boggling at the size of the drifts outside...

That is one lucky baby girl receiving your lattice quilt! We managed to escape all the snow, and actually had rain this morning, but being from Pittsburgh, I can commiserate with being snowed in! Enjoy the extra quilting time!!

You have such gorgeous work! I love your eye for color. I'm in love with your "Modern Meadow."

Snowpocalypse?? Hang in there! Living in a desert, I sort of miss having that much snow. I don't miss the shoveling, though!

Happy snowmaggedon hand-piecing! That's a way to make lemonade out of lemons (or lemon slushies). Hey--did any of you other linkers have trouble inserting the image you wanted today? I clicked on "Select" when I put up my linkie, but it wouldn't let me put in my chosen jpg file address today. Thanks for any insights and happy quilting progress!
