To those of you in the U.S., happy Memorial Day and enjoy your long weekend. I will be spending it attempting to potty-train my 2-year-old, which means my weekend will be very long indeed. : )
As I mentioned on Wednesday, I'll be taking a short blogging break, in order to give this little project my full attention. Elizabeth will be taking care of WIP Wednesday this week (there will be a reminder post here, directing you to her blog), and I hope to be back on Thursday, barring any disasters and/or vast amounts of time spent cleaning carpet. ReplyDeleteOh, that memory is still fresh in my head...I did it last year over 4th of July. M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E! Make sure you have enough wine to calm yourself after she goes to bed!

ReplyDeleteWe tried the miracle 3 day potty training. It was a spectacular fail! and I have to recover the dining room chairs. I did get us jump started though. Good luck! Potty training is one of my least favorite parts of parenting.

My two year old has been potty trained for what seems like years now but girl has taken to taking her nighttime pull up off in her bed and dreaming she's going to the bathroom sitting on the toliet... Let's just say I've been doing many more loads of laundry everyday. Suffice it to say: Every kids is different and just keep the washing machine and dryer in working order.

ReplyDeleteThe only thing I get an D- (not totally an F because they do use the toilet now at 14, 11, and 9) on my Mommy report card. My three boys and I did not do so well! I am dreading when our newest baby boy's turn comes up....dreading it....

ReplyDeleteGood Luck! We did just fine when Lucy was ready...unfortunately it's all about the kid, gotta be on their schedule not mommy's (which sucks because we're the ones changing the diapers)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those moments that making it fun works wonders. I did all out bribery with M&Ms with any success, and threw a few Cherrios in the pot for them to aim at. Pretty lame but it worked for me. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteGood luck and don't despair! I did the "Toilet training in less than a day" with my oldest when he was 2, it worked beautifully! My son was fully toilet trained in 24 hours!

ReplyDeleteAnother Good Luck wish! I did this with my daughter (a dedicated weekend) and we had our breakthrough when I abandoned the idea of her learning from mistakes and started helping her see how to succeed. Every child is so different!
