Ever wonder about my very first quilt? Okay, you probably haven't. : ) But head over to
Gen X Quilters anyway, because the first quilt I ever made is on display there today, in all its wonkified glory.

Thank you, AnneMarie, for your First on the First series. It's been a lot of fun and I'm happy to be included!
My first quilt was made with Funkey Monkey also!
ReplyDeleteI love the monkey!
ReplyDeletewith my first quilt, I spent days agonizing over the fabric choice, and it was only a double nine-patch with four fabrics!
ReplyDeleteawww, that's a perfect first quilt. I love the Funky Monkey - especially the girl one.
ReplyDeleteI loved your piece over at Gen X, you absolutely had me laughing with the bit about your best early sewing skill was the shopping :)
ReplyDeleteI love the monkey quilt!!
ReplyDeleteYour first quilt is a treasure--so cute! No child would ever notice any wonkiness.
ReplyDeleteJust been over to GenX to read about your quilt. Great laugh. Clearly there's hope for us newbies!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lee,
ReplyDeleteI'm your newest follower, also from Wisconsin! I loved your story about your first quilt. I think you did an amazing job considering you were a new sewer/quilter. I am pretty much self-taught everything, with a little instruction as a child from my grandma on sewing on an old old Singer and casting on and doing the knit stitch. But I was hooked, and have loved making things all my life. I just didn't know how to do anything. Then I figured it out on my own, unfortunately learning from mistake after mistake. The good news is once you make a time consuming mistake it is a lesson well learned, right?
Please come visit me at my new blog, Ric Rac and Polka Dots. I am brand new, but have lots of fun planned to share with everyone. Bring your friends!!! I hope to see you there.
