Everyone in the sewing community has WIPs right? Yeah, so here's a little glimpse into my world and what I'm working on.
First off, I'm trying harder to be better organized ... meaning I have a notepad portfolio that holds a planner, notepad, and pen. This is "suppose" to keep me from over committing to projects and it's small enough to keep in my purse. I really tried to go to my phone for keeping dates and things but I must be hella ole' skool cause I'd rather do the caveman method and write it down.
Another thing I do is try to keep my WIPs in one bin ... and when I say "try," I really mean it—ha!
I keep each project in ziplock baggies so I'm not losing pieces here and there. Bigger projects like finished blocks, I just keep in the tote.
So what's taking my attention this week? Well, I'm working on my Sophia bag for Purse Palooza. Make the bag and review the pattern ... that's not hard, right? Yeah, I've only made one other bag in my life—eek! But so far the cut outs look so promising, right? (sarcasm)
Now it's your turn to link up! Here are the rules:
1. Link up any post from the past week that features at least one unfinished work-in-progress (WIP)
2. Somewhere in your post, link back here to my blog. (Or grab my WIP Wednesday button for your sidebar.)
3. Comment on at least a few of the other links—because what fun is a linky party without comments?

I've got 20 bee blocks to make ... um, yeah, that's insane ...
Gotta finish quilting my Prince Joel Small Plates quilt ...
My Dresden Challenge quilt needs a back and then I'm sending it off to get quilted ...
Gotta put together my Carpenter's Star quilt (tutorial can be found here) ...
Yeah, I don't over commit at all! So what are ya'll working on this week??

Hey there, Sukie. Thanks for running this WIP Wednesday - you are really busy and your quilts are lovely!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I can't see the linky party. Maybe it's just me?
Not just you - no linky party yet :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's not Sukie's fault, it's mine. : ) It's there now!
DeleteThanks for hosting this week Sukie! Loving that Carpenter's Wheel quilt! Gorgeous
ReplyDeleteIt should be Carpenters Star - my bad. I had wheels on the brain

ReplyDeleteLove those carpenter's star blocks. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteNice to see a face sukie! can't believe THAT sign/block you made.... LOL
ReplyDeleteI was going to do the f-bomb but I didn't want ladies to be too shocked! ha

ReplyDeletehahaha! Sukie!! I love that profile picture!! Awesome!! I love the carpenter's squares! Those are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteGood to see you Sukie - thanks for hosting! Love your Carpenter's blocks - sashing or no?
ReplyDeleteSashing for sure! I think I have another 3 blocks to make. . It will be a huge quilt!!!
DeleteWow Sukie you have a CRAZY amount of stuff going on!! And there's nothing wrong with the caveman method! It's the only thing that works for me right now, write it down!
ReplyDeleteCarpenter's squares look great. I love all the colors.
ReplyDeleteHey lady! Crazy seeing you here :-) great WIPs, love those carpenter stars!
ReplyDeleteThe carpenter's stars are fabulous :)
ReplyDeleteThe carpenter's stars are just flat amazing and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with a problem for overcommitting...although I thought my 8 bee blocks was bad. 20--I don't think I'd make it! ;)
ReplyDeleteSee my 20 is making your 8 feel better right? It's like watching hoarders and feeling that your house is perfect even if it's a disaster in your mind.
DeleteNice to meet you, Sukie!
ReplyDeleteI'd go broke keeping my WIP is ziplocs, besides I'll have it finished quicker than *that*! Right.... Great idea.
I like to see you calling them Carpenter's Squares. So many people are using fancy names for an old school pattern!
Love loving the Carpenters' Stars! All the different backgrounds really float my boat.
ReplyDeleteYeah I had my local bee help me make the blocks, I asked 3 girls to make their blocks in different back ground colors.
DeleteGreat to meet you Sukie and I love your post!
ReplyDeleteMost of the time I really don't even want to talk about how many WIP's I have.
I would get so bored only working on one thing though! But, at the same time, more might get completed if I didn't jump from one project to another.
This week I didn't mention all the WIP's that are in my drawers in my craft room.
If I mentioned all the WIPs I had - this would possible be the longest blog post eva!
DeleteYour purse is looking great and I over commit just like you! And again, I LOVE those Carpenter Star blocks. My bee had better be prepared to make these! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Sukie. Always a pleasure! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG..you are a CUTIE PATOOTIE!!!!
ReplyDeleteCarpenter Stars...awesome!
Over commit, no, never, not in my vocabulary *ahem* Maybe it should be ;o)
ReplyDeleteThanks for subbing Sukie! I love your writing voice and your work is so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWIPs are a funny thing! Writing it down is a lot easier than having it on the phone! I have a mini notebook with various lists and sewing related things in there =D
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Sukie. Lovely to meet you. The carpenter squares are BEA-U-TI-FUL!! I like to keep a notebook, too. I can't resist a pretty cover and a nice pen. I am going over to check out your blog now...
ReplyDeletegreat post thanks for hosting :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Your carpenters stars look amazing! I only have 12 more to make for my quilt :-)
