WIP Wednesday: Guest-Hosted by Katie

Hi, everyone! Lee tells me today is August 1, so that means it's my turn to stage a (friendly) takeover of W.I.P. Wednesday. I'm Katie, and I blog over at Katie's Korner.  I live in Alabama with my husband and our 5-year-old son, and I work full time as a copy editor for a magazine. Stop by my blog and say hi!

My crafty time has definitely been limited this summer (I know I'm not alone!), but I did manage to make some progress this week, especially on some bee blocks.

Star for Kati
Pioneer's compass for @the_blue_chair !
I made this bee block for Kati using this pattern from It was definitely a challenge, but I'm happy with the way it turned out.

do. Good Stitches July block Cracker scraps for do. Good Stitches.
Meg requested Cracker Scraps blocks using Angela's tutorial (a welcome change of pace from the paper-pieced star!)

House block
This house block is on its way to a new home too.

In progress
do. Good Stitches Host Swap
The hosts of the do. Good Stitches circles are having a little swap. I sewed up this Jane Market tote for my partner. I need to make another small item for my partner, and the deadline was...yesterday. Eep!

Happy Drawing quilt
I'm making a Happy Drawing quilt for a friend who is about to have a baby. I have less than 2 weeks until the shower...

Diaper bag for Claire
My little niece has requested a toy diaper bag. Need to get to work on this asap!

Tula Pink Quilt!
I'm excited to make a quilt using The Birds & The Bees. Soon!

Completed tops awaiting quilting:
Postage Stamp quilt
Arcadia Quilt

To do:
Half Moon Modern quilt borders
Hand-stitched class homework
teddy bear sleeping bags
Tracey's French Kisses
June block for do. Good Stitches
July block for do. Good Stitches
Yellow/Gray star for Kati
Bag for me

Okay, it's your turn! What have you been working on this week? Here are the rules for linking up to WIP Wednesday:

1. Link up any post from the past week that features at least one unfinished work-in-progress (WIP)
2. Somewhere in your post, link back here to my blog. (Or grab my WIP Wednesday button for your sidebar.)
3. Comment on at least a few of the other links—because what fun is a linky party without comments?

I like all of your blocks. I love the bag! Bags seem to be the in thing to make right now. They have so many neat patterns at the quilt shop that I would like to buy---sigh---if only I had the money to just spend spend spend!

Gosh, that star is GORGEOUS! So striking! I know it's a lot of work, but the results are fabulous!
And your tote is huge! When our do.Good Stitches bee did a swap, we just did zipper pouches. I'm glad we didn't do totes! :)
