WIP Wednesday: Quilting and Cooking

I have to admit, the WIP that's most on my mind this week is my grocery list, as I get ready to host Thanksgiving for the first time. (What am I thankful for? That I'm cooking for only a small group!) But here's a sneaky peek of something else I've been working on:

Quilting, quilting, and more quilting. My Janome Horizon is worth its weight in gold this week.

What's on your to-do list this week? Whatever you're sewing, link it up here! Just remember the rules:
1. Link up any post from the past week that features at least one unfinished work-in-progress (WIP).
2. Somewhere in your post, you must link back here to my blog. (Or grab my WIP Wednesday button for your sidebar.)
3. Comment on at least a few of the other WIP Wednesday links. Because what fun is a linky party without comments?

Have a great week, and happy Thanksgiving to those in the U.S.!

I am curious about the presser foot you are using in the photo above. Do you use the accufeed presser foot with the feed dogs down? Do use this method mostly? I also have a horizon. In fact, I have the new one. Still learning. Also, love modern quilting.

Looks like concentric circle quilting is going full force. I am about to start baking and cooking for Thanksgiving too. Got my mom here to be my sous chef woohoo.

I'm actually feeling pretty good about all my holiday preparations. I've even finished all my holiday shopping. Everything has been bought online and now I'm just waiting for it to arrive!

Hi Julie - I'm using the Accufeed presser foot with the feed dogs UP. I don't think you would want to use the Accufeed with the dogs down, that would defeat the purpose of the dual-feed mechanism. In fact, I actually follow Leah Day's recommendation and leave my feed dogs up at all times - even when I'm doing free motion quilting. I find it makes absolutely no difference to drop them! And I had problems with the feed dogs getting stuck in the down position on my old machine, so I figure it's less wear and tear on machine to leave them up.

Happy Thanksgiving Lee and I hope it all goes well :)
