WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

This week my focus had to abruptly shift to my most important WIP: Vintage Quilt Revival!

Vintage Quilt Revival final review!Faith and Katie and I had our final review this week. It was thrilling to see it in its final form after working so hard on it for the last year and a half. And I'm so excited to get this book into all of your hands. (That's the title page in the photo above, by the way, not the cover.)Vintage Quilt Revival final review!I feel like this book has a distinct point of view and really has something to say. Sure, there are patterns you can follow (lots of them, and really cool ones!). But I also hope this book will be a general source of inspiration, pushing you to be more creative, to appreciate the history of the craft, and to look at traditional quilt blocks in a whole new light. Obviously I think we've succeeded in that, but you all will be the ultimate judges. The book should ship in early- to mid-December. (Just in time for Christmas—makes a great gift!) Yes, you can pre-order it on Amazon. And please ask your local quilt shop to carry it as well!Oh, and for those of you wondering about my AQS Modern Quilt Challenge Quilt—yeah, that's not happening after all. With the manuscript review this week, I just didn't have time. So I entered Modern Mirage instead. Modern Mirage wasn't exactly the judges' favorite at Quilt Con, so entering it in another show might just mean I'm a glutton for punishment. : ) But it was one of my only show-worthy contenders available, and I think enough time has passed since Quilt Con that I'm brave enough to put it out there again. I'm still going to work on the quilt I started for the challenge at some point—maybe for Road to California? We'll see. What are you working on this week? Here are the linky rules:1. Link up any post from the past week that features at least one unfinished work-in-progress (WIP).2. Somewhere in your post, you must link back here to my blog. (Or grab the WIP Wednesday button for your sidebar.)3. Comment on at least a few of the other WIP Wednesday links—commenting on the two or three links directly before yours works well to make sure everyone gets comments!
