WIP Wednesday at Freshly PiecedIt's Wednesday, and I'm stitching it old school up in here. As I've mentioned before, my friend Allison Bielke is now designing fabric for Modern Yardage, and I jumped at the chance to work with one of her fab new lines. Allison loves mid-century-modern design, so I wanted to come up with a quilt design that reflected her retro vibe.Wonky bow-tie blocksThese wonky double-bow-tie blocks feature heavily in the design I came up with, even though at the time I wasn't entirely sure how to go about piecing them. : ) Fortunately, these babies turned out to be easy, fun, and slightly addictive! A block tutorial and free quilt pattern using Allison's Business and Leisure line are in the works.Another blockI'm also throwing a few other fun blocks into this quilt too, all featuring Allison's prints. Can't wait to finish this quilt! The look is so different from what I usually do, but I'm digging it more and more. What are you working on this week? Here are the linky rules:1. Link up any post from the past week that features at least one unfinished work-in-progress (WIP).2. Somewhere in your post, you must link back here to my blog. (Or grab the WIP Wednesday button for your sidebar.)3. Comment on at least a few of the other WIP Wednesday links—commenting on the two or three links directly before yours works well to make sure everyone gets comments!Have a wonderful week.
