WIP Wednesday: With guest host Sarah from {no} hats in the house

Hello! I’m Sarah from {no} hats in the house, and I’m pretty excited about guest hosting here today. I haven’t even told Lee this yet (hi, Lee!), but WIP Wednesday was the very first place I linked up when I started blogging last year. And I have to say, it definitely brought a smile to my face when I looked back at that first post and realized that some talented bloggers—ones I’m honored to now call friends—showed some comment love that day. Ironically, it turns out I’ve made effectively zero progress on that particular project since then, BUT I like to think that's because I managed to start (and finish!) many other things instead (...right?)

Intrigued?  For the full photos, other finishes, and links to all the backstories check out my portfolio here.

And naturally, I’ve also curated quite an array of WIPs since that fateful Wednesday, including (but not limited to)—sorry, that's my inner attorney talking—...

(1)  #layercakesamplerqal

(2) sunset stag

(3/4) gypsy wife

(5) dwr

(6) greconomy

(7) small city sampler

(8) radiant koi

(9) steam {hunk}

(10) selvage 16-patch

(11) shoot for the stars

(12) amethyst

(13) radiant '(k)id

But “in progress” doesn’t always mean sewing for me.  At least not directly.  For instance, I’m always on the lookout forso-old-they’re-new blocks to add to the INDEX

Here's what's currently in the queue.  Have any to add?

Email me!

And ever since my first guild engagement (and second, and now a local class!), I’ve been brainstorming new workshop concepts and lecture ideas (inquiries welcome :D). Plus I’ve been doing some packing and prep work for the MQG’sSewDown Nashville. (...Where I might be too busy being starstruck to actually sew; I’m counting on my friend Amanda to snap me out of it.)

Keep your eyes peeled for these #opgivewarmth palettes on IG!

But my biggest WIP is only just beginning.  Earlier this week I announced #opgivewarmth, an initiative to give a little something to children who quite literally have nothing.  So if you ever find yourself wanting to do some good but need somewhere to channel that energy, I encourage you to visit my blog, the flickr group, or check in on IG (@nohatsquilts | #opgivewarmth) for the latest month's callout for blocks.  Together, we can help provide that much more warmth and comfort to children in the foster care system, one block at a time.

Thanks to Lee for having me and for hosting us every week.  I hope to see you around (here's where you can find me), and I look forward to perusing all the midweek inspiration to come!

What are you working on this week? Here are the linky rules:

1. Link up any blog post from the past week that features an unfinished work-in-progress (WIP).

2. Somewhere in your post, you must link back here to my blog.

3. Comment on at least a few of the other WIP Wednesday links—commenting on the two or three links directly before yours works well to make sure everyone gets comments!
