WIP Wednesday: Progress. Sort Of.

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced
So, if I continue on this Aviatrix Medallion at the same glacial pace I've been working under, I should be done in, oh, a decade or two.

Yes, I sewed exactly two pieces onto each quarter. Try not to be blown away by my productivity. : ) I blame it on all the various end-of-school-year activities. But the last day of school is tomorrow, so I'm sure I'll pick up the pace once summer vacation officially starts. Right? (Yeah, right.)

Today's WIP Wednesday is brought to you by Bobbie Lou's Fabric Factory, which has (drumroll please) a gorgeous, brand new website! Click over to it right this very minute. In addition to the great selection you've come to expect from Bobbie Lou's Etsy shop, she's now offering better organization and categorization of all her fabric, so you'll be able to quickly find what you're looking for. And there is free U.S. shipping on all orders over $50! (Or a $5 discount on international shipping.)

To celebrate Bobbie Lou's new website, owner Chelsea is offering both a giveaway AND a discount! Woo hoo! Thank you, Chelsea! : )

One random winner will win 10 mix-and-match fat quarters—the winner gets to choose! Link up (via blog or Instagram) for one chance to win, and/or comment on this post for a second chance. And whether you win or not, you can use the coupon code FRESHLY to get 15% off any order through Monday, June 16.

And what are you working on this week? Here are the linky rules:
1. Link up any blog post or Instagram photo from the past week that features an unfinished work-in-progress (WIP).
2. If you are linking to a blog post, please link back here to my blog.
3. If you are linking to an Instagram photo, please hashtag #wipwednesday and mention me, @freshlypieced. To link an Instagram photo, click the Instagram icon in the link-up screen, and use the URL of your IG feed as the link (for example, my URL would be www.instagram.com/freshlypieced).
4. Comment on at least a few of the other WIP Wednesday links, either IG or blog—commenting on the two or three links directly before yours works well to make sure everyone gets comments!

And remember, you can participate only on Instagram if you prefer. You don't necessarily need to link up here. Just hashtag #wipwednesday—and then check the hashtag to see what everybody else is working on!

Ha! Love the honesty. Sometimes life gets in the way of - well, life, I suppose! But, it's looking quite fabulous. Especially love the fabric choice for the background.

That block is beautiful on its own, and I'm in love with your fabric selections. I can't take on the whole quilt right now, but I'm thinking I could hack this block -- it would make a lovely pillow.

I think I'm missing something on how to link to Instagram. I click on my image and when I click done it wants a URL to my blog post. Do I just put my Instagram address there?

Joanne said...

That is stunning!!! There are just never enough hours in the day to get everything done!!

I quilted for the first time in a week or so last night. Felt so good to finally get down to my sewing room again. Summer is always my slowest sewing time.

Serena @ Sewgiving said...

Tehe - you Aviatrix Medallion quilt sounds like my Houndstooth quilt ... snails pace I tell you!

Jessica said...

Well whenever you do finish it, it's going to be awesome. Love your fabrics!

Love the Medallion

Well, you are much further along than I am. All I've found time to do thus far is to print out the pattern and collect the fabric I intend to use. Teaching online and watching a busy toddler this summer seems to be sucking all my time. By the time the little sweetie leaves for the day, I am too exhausted to do more than sit and catch up with online teaching stuff. This weekend I did piece a quilt for her Big Girl bed but I don'thave a blog to link to.
I do love looking at what people are making.

I don't think I could ever make one! Its gorgeous, but patience is not me!

Is that start medallion hand pieced?
You did more sewing than I did this past week.

Thanks to Bobbie Lou for offering the discount and giveaway.

I think you should be proud that you made progress! I am too scared to even start that quilt! :)

I haven't managed to start an Instagram account yet, so I'll just comment here. I have too many WIPs to count, so I'll just mention the two that are on my sewing table at the moment. I have the blocks from a BOM done and I am working on the setting blocks. It's going slow because I am not sure I will have enough of the background fabric to finish. Silly, huh? If I would just go ahead and cut all the necessary pieces, I would know, and could then see if I can find any more of the same fabric anywhere. The second WIP is a scrappy RWB patriotic quilt that will be a raffle quilt for my husband's international convention next August (2015). So I keep telling myself that I have plenty of time. Boy, THAT going to come back and bite me!
