It’s time!!! Summer Sampler 2021 launches TODAY!

This year’s theme is “Vintage Restyle.” We took some of our favorite traditional quilt block designs—think Sawtooth Star, Irish Chain, Log Cabin, etc.—and asked our talented team of guest designers (see below) to give them a fresh, modern spin. I love a good design challenge, and this, friends, was a very good challenge!

The result was the gorgeous quilt you see above. Want to make it with us this summer? You know you do! 😊Katie and Faith and I have so much fun putting together this annual quilt-along, and last year was another blockbuster year—more than 1,500 of you participated! This year is sure to be even bigger and better!

Here are all the details about this year's quilt-along:

Pattern includes:
• 12 blocks, 12-1/2” x 12-1/2” (12” finished)
• 1 super-sized center block, 28-1/2” x 28-1/2” (28” finished)
• Finishing instructions for a 68" x 68" completed quilt

Quilt-along runs:
June 7-September 6, 2021
Subscribers will receive a new block via email each Monday during the quilt-along. The first block will arrive on Monday, June 7.

Skill level:
Confident Beginner.
We assume you have mastered basic quilting skills, such as the ability to sew a 1/4" seam, general fabric cutting and pressing knowledge, and familiarity with the terminology used in quilt patterns.

Techniques/skills used:
Most of the blocks use standard piecing technique. One block uses foundation paper-piecing (our “Beginner’s Guide to Foundation Paper-Piecing” is included with purchase if you have never tried FPP before). Four blocks involve some curved piecing. Throughout the quilt-along, we’ll be providing designer tips, tricks, and a few video demos of specific techniques used.

Fabric requirements:
For the blocks, you will need approximately 4 yards total of assorted colors, plus 2-1/4 yards of White background fabric. For the sashing, you will need about 1-2/3 yards of White and 1-1/8 yards total of various shades of gray. More detailed information is available in our Welcome PDF, which you can download on purchase.

Or, visit Sewtopia to purchase a custom fabric bundle. No need to hunt down every color!

Price: $34.99 total
Your one-time payment of $34.99 includes:
• A new, fully-tested quilt block pattern delivered to your email inbox each Monday for 13 weeks, beginning on Monday, June 7, 2021
• A Welcome PDF with fabric requirements and suggested colors (or see below for info about fabric bundles available from online fabric shops)
• Complete finishing instructions to make an 68" x 68" sampler quilt (emailed to subscribers at the completion of the quilt-along on Monday, September 6)
• Coloring sheets for planning
• Our Beginner’s Guide to Foundation Paper-Piecing
• Access to an exclusive, subscriber-only Facebook group where you can ask questions, get advice, and connect with the designers and a community of other quilters

I am OBSESSED with this year’s colors. So I’ll be doing my version in the kit fabric this time around! The Kona Cotton colors in the fabric kit from Sewtopia are (from the top of the stack down): Curry, Mango, Salmon, Dusty Peach, Shell, Green Tea, Bluegrass, Baby Blue, Steel, Iron, Lighthouse, and White.

If you want to use these colors too, you can order the fabric kit from Sewtopia right now. There are limited quantities of the kit available, so order ASAP!
